"Are you wearing a necklace?" a friend asked me recently, surprised.
“Show me.”
I took out my labradorite.
In the past, I would’ve felt uncomfortable showing it.
Revealing something I wasn’t yet ready to stand for.
Something spiritual, unusual in the social circles I used to move in.
But now, I wear this stone with quiet pride.
It symbolizes the transformation I’ve gone through over the past seven years.
I chose it after a deep release of old grief.
During a connected breathing session at a men’s retreat in Spain, I saw a clear image of my son Tuim.
His message was simple and profound: “Dad, you’re allowed to breathe freely again.”
My breath doesn’t have to hold anymore when things get intense.
It can flow again, if I allow it.
The wisdom of that old soul, who only briefly saw the light of life, rests on my chest every day.
We breathe all day.
But how often do you really breathe, consciously?
How often do you feel the rising and falling of your belly?
The life force moving through you?
Connected breathwork is a powerful practice in which the inhale and exhale flow into each other without pause.
It releases tension.
It reconnects you to your body, your emotions, your essence.
If you feel called to explore it, I recommend being guided by an experienced breath coach.
It can go deep.
And it can deeply heal.
In my mentorship journeys, breathwork, along with meditation and yoga, is a daily practice for my clients. And for myself.
Not just as a habit, but as embodiment.
Because true change happens only when all layers of our being, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual, are included and connected.
I’m curious:
If you were to wear a stone to honor a life-changing experience, what would it be? And what would it mean to you?
